Clive Witton, Knifemaker, lives and works in Ide Hill in the Weald of Kent, England.

This ancient area has history from Neolithic times but, in 449, was invaded by the Jutes, (brothers Hengist and Horsa), which signalled the start of the Anglo-Saxon invasion of England. Their emblem of the White Horse and their motto Invicta (Unconquered) was adopted by the Kingdom of Kent and remains so today.

Ide Hill dates from the year 1250 as Edythehelle (Edith’s Hill) when the whole of Kent, Surrey and Sussex was covered by the Forest of Andred, sadly most of it has now gone.

This site describes my work and the ethos under it. Every knife is hand made so they are all different but they are guaranteed for life; in the event that it fails in normal use I will repair or replace it free of charge.
